This week has been packed with fun activities, starting with our Study Tour to Brussels for the APA in-house course, « La France Contemporaine » in which we visited the Conseil and the Parlement of the European Union. We also still made time to enjoys some frites and gaufres, the culinary classics of Belgium!
Then Sunday, I visited the famous and enormous Père Lachaise Cemetery where I went on a hunt for famous composers’ graves. Turns out it was more difficult to find them than I expected, so I only found Bellini, Cherubini and Chopin. Then back at home I helped my host mom bake some cakes!
Wednesday was our Atelier de Cuisine, a cooking class that is part of the Cultural Program of APA. We made choux pastries, some sweet with chocolate chantilly cream and some savory with cheese and herbes du Provence. It was a delicious time, and I hope I learned well enough to recreate the pastries at home!
I think that’s all for now,
