Housing
Your living arrangements are an essential part of the Paris–Rabat experience. By combining community-based housing in Paris with a host family stay in Rabat, students engage with daily life in two distinct contexts—strengthening language skills, deepening cultural understanding, and building meaningful local connections throughout the program.
Students spend the first five weeks in Paris living in a student residence, followed by one immersive week with a Moroccan host family in Rabat. Those who choose to extend their experience may return to Paris for two additional weeks of independent research, continuing to live in APA student residences.
Student Residence in Paris
Students live in a student foyer in Paris, sharing a residence with French and international students and young professionals. This community-oriented setting offers independence alongside built-in support, making it an ideal base for academic life and cultural exploration.
- Locations include Charonne, Amandiers, Vaugirard, Ile de la Cite and Didot
- Furnished rooms with shared common spaces
- 7 breakfasts and 5* dinners per week included
*Not all foyers provide dinner during the summer. Adjustments will be made based on students’ needs and preferences, when possible.
Host Family Stay in Rabat
During the final week, students live with a Moroccan host family in the medina of Rabat, offering a deep and personal cultural experience. Carefully selected host families welcome students into their homes, providing insight into daily routines, traditions, and language use.
- Private room with access to shared living spaces
- 7 continental breakfasts and 5 home-cooked dinners
- Weekly laundry included
- Daily exposure to Arabic, with some French or English
Many students describe this experience as a highlight of the program—sharing meals, conversations, and moments of everyday life that bring cultural learning fully into focus.
Extension
After the week in Morocco, students may choose to return to Paris to continue with two weeks of independent research through the program. Participants in this option are housed in APA student residences, either in the same foyer or an alternate location depending on availability and program needs.
