Program Details

Level Up combines hands-on experience with intensive instruction:

- Deepen your academic knowledge of an issue through university-level classes
- Experience Design Thinking methodology and learn tools from the professional world to improve collaboration and generate impact
- Implement them on the spot working on a project initiated by one of our partners
- Experience cultural immersion differently, by fusing study with real engagement in the host community through your capstone project

Spring 2021 Schedule

Level Up participants follow four courses. All courses are four credit hours and conducted in French.

Capstone Project and Mentorship

Work within a team 15 hours per week to propose a solution to a current issue at one of our corporate or NGO partners. Involves final presentation to the partner organization, final written report, as well as weekly mentoring sessions.

Design Thinking for Global Challenges

Provides tools and methodology for the capstone project and encourages reflexivity about engagement in a foreign setting.

Course of your choice at APA

Equips students with thematic knowledge necessary to fully engage with the project. Choose among the following:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Practices and Debates in France
  • Gender, Race and Diversity in France
  • Digital Economy
  • The Future of Museums in France

Course of your choice at one of our partner universities

At the end of the semester, APA will send the following to the student’s home institution:

  • Transcript (includes credit hours, French grades, and American equivalents)
  • Professor’s evaluation (includes detailed report of the grades earned)
  • Course descriptions and bibliographies
  • Student’s academic schedule

Continue to expand your resume

Add on to your semester studies with a two-month summer internship after the spring semester concludes. Placements are made according to student interests in both the public and private sectors.
